They came in droves to see and listen to presidential candidate Rody Duterte during a campaign sortie at the Remedios Triidad Romualdez (RTR) Plaza in Tacloban, Leyte on March 14. To these thousands of Leytenos, Duterte is their hero. He was the first local government executive who responded to their distress call in the aftermath of Typhoon Yolanda in 2013. Duterte brought with him medical teams and assets of the Davao City’s Central 911 and P7 million cash assistance from the people of Davao.
