The incoming Duterte administration may learn a thing or two from the way the Aquino government governed the country and possibly avoid its mistakes.
Political analyst Malou Tiquia recently listed down several lessons from the Aquino administration while taking a swipe at its shortcomings in the past six years. The #PostAquinoLessons, initiated by Tiquia on Twitter, ranged from respecting other branches of government, reaching out to people and not building a cult to holding accountable public officials regardless of friendship.
“Never elect a haciendero or a cacique because frontline services are inconsequential for them. #PostAquinoLessons,” Tiquia, host of CNN Philippines’ “Agenda,” tweeted.
Another tweet read: “A KKK is good for the short term but bad til the end of term. Why? No sense of accountability. #PostAquinoLessons.”
“Never believe that a yellow ribbon can replace the PH flag. #PostAquinoLessons,” Tiquia said.
