“Digital PH, is a portal in empowering small, medium enterprises (SMEs) in the country, which will be establish by Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT)”, according to the report of Sunstar Davao.
The main objective of the project is to make Philippines a digital nation through setting up the start-up business ecosystem as building-capability initiatives. This initiative is in line with the DICT’s future ready roadmap 2022 in developing the country’s Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) sector.
DICT planning officer Yvette Cabrera said that digital space should be optimized through using the internet to help start-up businesses online.
Respectively, seminars and technical trainings will be provided by the digital portal in aiding the improvement of value chain businesses of the Filipinos.
The program also aims to give benefits to people in rural areas by extending opportunities in countrysides and unemployed Filipinos.
According to the recorded data of DICT, as of July 2018, there are 1.2 million Filipinos as full-time employees under their digital project initiatives. This project is a breed of OFWs, ‘Online Filipino Workers’, that will be generating more opportunities.
