Globe pushes network expansion in Mindanao

Date:

Globe continues to sustain its network expansion in Mindanao as several projects all over the island, including one in Patikul, Sulu, get underway.

Cell sites or cell towers are being built in Davao Oriental, Saranggani, South Cotabato, Bukidnon, and Sulu to boost network capacity in the Mindanao region.

The different projects are currently in various stages of the build but with strong support from the LGUs and the communities around the cell sites, customers and the public, in general, can expect better services in the coming weeks.

“We want to assure our customers that our efforts to give better service and experience are not only concentrated in Luzon or in major commercial centers in big cities. We want to bring our services closer, more accessible and of course to more number of our countrymen in more places in the country,” Joel Agustin, Globe SVP for Program Development-Network Technical Group, said.

Several cell sites are expected to rise in Mati in Davao Oriental; Malapatan in Saranggani; Maray-Maray in Bukidnon; Polomolok in South Cotabato;  and Bud Datu in Patikul, Sulu.

“We are optimistic that with these builds, we can bring more opportunities as connectivity ensures better communication, better service, and better promotion of small businesses in the communities. In Sulu, for example, the better signal means the farmers there can go directly to potential buyers and customers not only in Zamboanga but directly to other places where they can sell their mangosteen, lanzones, marang, durian, vegetables and other harvest goods. This will mean more income for them,” Agustin added.

Aside from Mindanao, Globe eyes more expansion projects in the Visayas and in other parts of Luzon as well. The company hopes to sustain the momentum of its network expansion despite the effects of the CoVID-19 pandemic in the country
