Five health care staff, including two doctors, test positive for COVID-19 in the Pateros vaccination center. Because of this incident, authorities choose to slow down the rollout within their municipality.
During a Facebook live video, Pateros Mayor Miguel Ponce III announced that the municipal government did close down the vaccination site in Pateros promptly on Thursday. As positive for COVID-19 test results came back from five of the medical staff tested.
Pateros Mayor Ponce III gave assurance that they closed down the site immediately to avoid any more transmissions, and now it is currently going through the disinfecting process.
One nurse did die of COVID-19, which the Paternos Mayor revealed. As the healthcare staffs’ numbers have reduced, the rollout will slow down.
At present, the local government is setting up other sites for vaccinations, Capt. Hipolito Francisco Elementary School and Capt. Hipolito Francisco Elementary School.
Pateros Mayor Ponce III stated that they’d acquire the CoronaVac from Sinovac Life Science because there’s not enough supply of AstraZeneca. Since both DOH and FDA approves CoronaVac for senior citizens, they will proceed. He added that if people do not wish to get vaccinated with CoronaVac, they may opt-out.
