Joshua Garcia’s ‘Ang Mga Kaibigan ni Mama Susan’ finally streaming on Amazon Prime Video

Kapamilya actor Joshua Garcia’s highly-anticipated movie, “Ang Mga Kaibigan ni Mama Susan,” will finally be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video beginning May 18, according to production company Black Sheep.

The movie, directed by award-winning horror director Chito Roño, will air three years after it was first teased. The post stated, “Nakakakilabot, nakakagimbal, at mapapaisip! Malapit nang mabuklat ang mga mensahe ni Mama Susan.”

Based on Bob Ong’s mystery novel, “Ang Mga Kaibigan ni Mama Susan,” the film was first introduced by co-producers Regal Entertainment and Black Sheep in February 2020, with Garcia as the lead actor. Roño, who also directed Garcia in “Mars Ravelo’s Darna,” helmed the project.

Released in 2010, “Ang Mga Kaibigan ni Mama Susan” follows the story of Galo, a Manila-based student who returns home to an island where he was raised by his grandmother Susan after learning she is ill. The mysteries he uncovers lead him to question his sanity.

The movie’s release was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was initially announced as an entry in the 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival, but Regal Entertainment pulled it out.

Fans of the book are eagerly anticipating the movie’s release, which promises to be thrilling and thought-provoking. The book’s popularity and acclaim ensure a large audience for the film, and with Garcia and Roño at the helm, viewers can expect an exceptional cinematic experience.

The movie’s trailer, which was released in 2020, showcased the film’s dark and eerie vibe, promising a terrifying adventure for viewers. Garcia’s transformation into Galo, with his tousled hair and a haunted look in his eyes, left fans excited to see him in the lead role.

Despite the delays, the production team persevered in bringing “Ang Mga Kaibigan ni Mama Susan” to the big screen. With the movie’s release on Amazon Prime Video, audiences all over the world can finally watch it.
