During the announcement, Tito Sotto revealed that the “new management” had instructed them not to air any live episodes, which ultimately led to their decision to part ways with TAPE Inc. Vic Sotto expressed their gratitude for being able to bring joy and happiness to their audience, spanning from Batanes to Jolo. He thanked everyone for their unwavering support throughout the years and assured them that the show would continue to bring countless moments of joy and laughter, wherever their path leads them.

Joey de Leon, reminiscing about the show’s beginnings, thanked the various networks that had been their home throughout the years. He expressed his deep appreciation to RPN-9 for nine years, ABS-CBN for six years, and GMA for 28 years, acknowledging the pivotal roles they played in the success of “Eat Bulaga.”

The hosts, dressed in white and black, fought back tears as they shared their farewell message and embraced one another after the surprise announcement. INQUIRER.net obtained a copy of the hosts’ emotional speech, revealing their genuine sentiments.

The departure from TAPE Inc. follows recent reports of conflicts between the production company and the noontime show. In an interview with showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin in April 2023, Tito Sotto emphasized their commitment to continue the show under any circumstances. He also asserted that TVJ (Tito, Vic, and Joey) owned the rights to “Eat Bulaga,” stating that the owners of TAPE were Romy Jalosjos.

However, the specific reason for “Eat Bulaga’s” departure from TAPE Inc. was not disclosed during the live broadcast. Additionally, it remains uncertain whether this marked the final episode of the beloved noontime show.

With its initial airing on July 30, 1979, on RPN-9, “Eat Bulaga” has captivated audiences for over four decades. The show later found homes on ABS-CBN and GMA Network, solidifying its status as an enduring and iconic program.

As fans bid farewell to the show’s partnership with TAPE Inc., they remain hopeful that “Eat Bulaga” will find a new platform to continue its legacy. The show’s departure marks the end of an era but also opens doors for new beginnings. Regardless of the challenges ahead, the indelible mark left by “Eat Bulaga” on Philippine television will forever be cherished, and the memories it created will be treasured by generations to come.
