Boxer Nonito Donaire to defend his WBO Title in the Philippines!

It’s official: Nonito Donaire will defend his WBO super bantamweight title against Hungarian Zsolt Bedak.

The Venue? Smart Araneta Coliseum.

According to reports, the Donaire-Bedak match will officially take place on April 23 after Bedak returned a signed contract for the match.

It was only late last year when Donaire earned the super bantamweight title after beating Cesar Juarez via unanimous decision; Dionaire also championed in the flyweight, bantamweight, and featherweight divisions, making this his fourth-division championship.

Donaire fought in the Areneta Coliseum last year against William Prado, knocking out Prado after two rounds.

Araneta is known for being the venue for one of the best heavyweight fight of all time dubbed “Thrilla in Manila” where Muhammad Ali triumphed over Joe Frazier in October 2, 1975.
