On Monday, September 19, 2016, Sen. Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV sent a letter to his colleague, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, for his “uncalled for” demeanor during last Thursday’s senate hearing on extra-judicial killings.

He said that his behavior was just a result of intense passion and emotion during the moment. He also assured that such incident will never happen again.

Last week, Trillanes told Cayetano in the hearing that he will not let him talk anymore and shut his mic off. This was after interrogating Edgar Matobato, a member of the so-called “Davao Death Squad” who testified that President Rodrigo Duterte was involved in the killing of criminals and some of his enemies in Davao City during his mayorship. Cayetano was questioning the witness’ credibility after failing to answer some questions and for his inconsistent statements.
