MANILA, Philippines — A 70-year old Filipino-Chinese businessman and his 20-year old grandson have been kidnapped in Zamboanga del Sur province, the military said.
A belated report from the Western Mindanao Command said at least eight still unidentified gunmen seized Antonio Tan and his grandson Rayray, in Lapuyan town, forcing them into two blue motor bancathat fled in the direction of Malangas late Wednesday afternoon.
Westmincom spokesman Major Filemon Tan said troops from the 53rd Infantry Battalion and the 6th Special Forces Battalion have been deployed to hunt down the kidnappers.
