Yesterday I went to a spa along San Juan because I had a flu. While I was called to have my feet washed, I jokingly apologised to my therapist because I was not able to cut my toenails.
“Ate sorry for my nails, its because eagle is my favourite bird (which I referred to because of its long nails),” I said. “I also idolise Duterte (the eagle for me symbolises him).”
Then my attending therapist’s eyes lit up.
“Everybody here in the spa will vote for him. The mayor comes here for massages when he is here in Manila, along with Sir Bong. They are super kind. It’s not true that he is a womanizer because he only brings along one woman here and it’s only Ma’am Honeylet,” she said.
After hearing that, I think that it is only a joke when he says he has a lot of girlfriends.
FYI, the spa that I went to is super affordable that is why I was shocked that Mayor Duterte goes there. I think the other presidential candidates will not be caught dead going there.
The humility of Mayor Duterte struck me because he can go to a fancy spa but he instead goes to the one that common people like me goes to.
Because of the high praises that the spa’s employees sing for mayor, I asked my therapist if she is from Davao.
“There’s not one here who is from Davao. I am a Tagalog, the others are from the north, but we are all solid Duterte supporters here. There are even therapists here that the mayor brings to Davao because they wanted to see the city. He has won our hearts that’s why all of us and our families are for Mayor Duterte,” she said.
When it was time for my massage, I was happy that I made the right decision in giving my vote to Mayor Duterte.
