According to reports, 4500 protesters sought sanctuary after the demonstration turned into a massacre. The number of casualties includes 3 farmers dead (Rotello Daelto from Barangay Binoongan, Arakan Municipality; Victor Lummandang from Brgy. Alobayon, Magpet and Enrico Pabrica from Kidapawan City) and 37 wounded from the protesters. 88 people are still missing and have reportedly been arrested by the Kidapawan City police.
