The House of Representatives justice committee has cited in contempt Ronnie Dayan, the former driver of Senator Leila de Lima, for not attending the congressional inquiry into the proliferation of drugs at the New Bilibid Prison.
After a vote of 12 lawmakers present at Monday’s inquiry, committee vice chairperson Doy Leachon adopted Fariñas’ motion.
The motion is carried and Ronnie Palisoc Dayan is being held in contempt by this committee and an arrest warrant is issued against him after he failed to show up to testify the materiality of all allegations against him, Leachon said.
Umali said he is sure the Department of Justice and the intelligence community would not let Dayan escape the country as he plays a huge role in the alleged drug trade.
