The PNP has implemented security adjustments in light of the uncovered failed attempt by the Maute terror group to assassinate PNP chief PDG Ronald Bato Dela Rosa.

According to PNP Spokesman SSupt Dionardo Carlos, this is to guard against any future attempts on the PNP chief’s life.

Carlos stressed that they will not be limiting the PNP chief’s public engagements, but only ensuring that he is fully secured.

At the same time, Carlos said that they are investigating who could possibly have financed the foiled assassination plot.

This is after Dela Rosa speculated that there could be no other possible reason for anyone wanting him dead other than his spearheading the government’s anti-drug campaign.

According to carlos, the illegal drug industry has been dealt a serious blow in the war on drugs, and in retribution, drug lords could have paid off the maute group to assassinate the PNP chief. | via DZRB
