National Capital Region (NCR) posted as the highest spending region in 2018 with P1.43 trillion, based on the data obtained from Philippine Statistics Authority(PSA).
As cited in the report from Business Mirror,” according to the Gross Regional Domestic Expenditure (GRDE), the national household spending was at P6.31 trillion in 2018″.
Importantly, “GRDE pertained to the expenditure of residents of the region in the domestic territory plus their expenditures in other regions including the rest of the world”.
Respectively, Household Final Consumption Expenditure (HFCE) data was also attained.
PSA reported that NCR consumption increase by 4.25 percent.
Report from Business Mirror, “HFCE covers both individual and institutional households, as well as nonprofit institutions serving households [NPISH]. It is assumed that the structure of NPISH and institutional households is the same as that of the individual households”.
Aside from NCR, which obtained the highest spending region, other regions such as Calabarzon (PhP 1.034 trillion) and Central Luzon (PhP 810.3 billion) acquire high expenditure in 2018.
