The infographics obtained from AgirinationPH showed that the National Capital Region (NCR), Philippines has higher minimum wage than the selected ASEAN countries.

These daily minimum wages are from different regions of three ASEAN countries, namely, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

In the Philippines, the green graph lines refer to the daily minimum wage of agricultural workers while black refers as the wages of non-agriculture workers.

Despite the increased salary of the workers from NCR, a report from Philippine News Agency said that “Labor Undersecretary Ciriaco Lagunzad III made this comment after the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) filed a petition seeking for a PHP710 per day across-the-board wage increase for the NCR workers.”

“The TUCP cited the urgent need to address the growing health problems caused by “nutritionally deficient survival meals” such as instant noodles, canned sardines, among others,” PNA reported.

Also, the minimum wages across the asian countries have increas. ( See the minimum wages in 2018: https://agrinationph.com/2018/06/17/inter-regional-daily-minimum-wages-among-ph-indonesia-and-malaysia/ ).
