Live Selling Turned to Romantic Proposal

People won’t hesitate to search for different ways to get through the pandemic.

It is the truth that more than 4 million people in the Philippines are losing their jobs or are unemployed, according to the statistics.

As the numbers pile up, and to survive, ingenuity and resourcefulness become reliable foundations to persevere.

Business owners worldwide are now relying heavily on the internet and social media platforms to boost their products or businesses, especially for small proprietors.

Such is the story of Rienz Crystal Reyes Viernes. She often did Facebook live selling, but on the evening of April 05, 2021, everything became romantic and magical as her longtime boyfriend proposed to her.

From her interview with Philippine Star, Ms. Viernes shared:

“Nagulat ako at first, although napag-uusapan na namin ang pag-settle down before. Hindi ko akalain na gagawin niya ‘yon during live selling,”

(At first, I was caught surprised, although we did talk about things like settling down before. I didn’t expect that he would do it during the live selling (session).”

Viernez was truly busy that night and went they (her business partner and friend) were about to wrap things up; her boyfriend went down on bended knee to ask her:

“Will you marry me?”

In the video, on the 3:15:02 mark, you’d see that Viernez was caught off guard and even asked her longtime boyfriend if he was serious.

Philippine Star also interviewed her boyfriend, Josephous Sumaylo Ramas. Revealing he already had plans of proposing. However, because of the current situation and schedules, he had to put it on hold.

Ramas said:

“Habang busy siya sa pagse-setup ng items nakabili ako ng cake at dun ko na nilakasan ang loob ko na magpropose. Buti na lang nasabihan ko mga kapatid ko at mama ko na manuod ng live selling niya. Hindi ko po akalain na magvi-viral ‘yung proposal ko dahil simple lang ang nakaya ko.”

(While she (Viernez) was busy setting up the items, I was able to buy a cake and gather the courage to propose finally. It’s a good thing I could tell my siblings and mother to watch her Facebook live selling video. I didn’t expect my proposal would become a viral video because all I could do was a simple one.”

The couple has been together and revealed on the interview that they’d tie the knot as soon as it’s assuredly safe to hold gatherings once again.
