Two distinctive music awards in the Philippines, the MYX Awards 2021 and the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Music, have released their list of nominees including Mindanaon music artists EAMARIE, Kyle Raphael, and Hip-hop group Delinquent Society last week.
Delinquent Society is nominated for MYX Awards 2021 R&B/Hip-hop Video of the Year Category, for their “Muddy Waters” music video, directed by Murphy Caballero. Delinquent shares this nomination with Michael Pacquiao – “Love”, Canadian based R&B/Hip-hop duo, Manila Grey – “Night Code”, Shanti Dope – “Teknik (feat. DJ Buddah), and Assembly Generals – “Kulog”.

The awards are to be held virtually on August 17, 2021 for the second time due to the ongoing pandemic.

Meanwhile, EAMARIE and Kyle Raphael have garnered multiple award nominations for the 12th Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Music. EAMARIE is nominated for NEW FEMALE RECORDING ARTIST OF THE YEAR for her performance in “Ikaw At Linggo”. “Ikaw At Linggo” was a contender for Himig Handog 2019, for which the compilation album is also nominated for ALBUM OF THE YEAR and COMPILATION ALBUM OF THE YEAR. The album also contains Daniel Padilla and Moira dela Torre hit song “Mabagal”.

Kyle Raphael is nominated for NEW MALE RECORDING ARTIST OF THE YEAR as well as FOLK/COUNTRY RECORDING OF THE YEAR for his single “Buwan Ng Mayo”. The song shares the same category with the likes of Ben & Ben – “Sampaguita”, Syd Hartha – “Ayaw”, and Davey Langit – “Oryang”. The date of the awards night is still on TBD status, which will also be held virtually this year.
