The Broken Marriage Vow is an upcoming teleserye of ABS-CBN Entertainment in cooperation and collaboration with DreamWorks with partnership of i-WantTV, BBC and VIU. The main casts are Zaijan Jaranilla as Gio Ilustre the son of David Ilustre played by Zanjoe Marudo with the mother being Dr. Jill Ilustre played by Jodi Santa Maria. The notable debut role and kind of refreshing to see is the character of Lexy Lucero played by Sue Anne Ramirez for the third party on this drama.

The new TV drama series was based on Mike Bartlett’s “Doctor Foster”, a popular BBC’s TV show, and it’s the 6th adaptation made by the two awesome directors from the Philippines, Ms. Connie Macatuno and Mr. Andoy Ranay. When asked about how is it going to be different from the other adaptations, both directors said that this has more of the “Filipino Soul” and has more “Pinoy Feel” that what the others have which the main casts agreed.

The Global Media Conference headed by Mr. MJ Felipe invited media people via zoom media conference from all over the world to meet and greet the cast and crew of this upcoming drama-series last January 17, 2022.

When asked “What’s the difference between your character Marissa (Ang Sa’yo Ay Akin) to Dr. Jill on this series?”, Jodi Santa Maria simply answered “Marissa was the affair or the third party while Dr. Jill is the legal wife.”

Sue Anne Ramirez said “The character was really intense and a faraway note from my own but I like about Lexy is she’s a go getter and whatever she puts on her mind she’s willing to do all to get it whatever it takes.”

Like the other casts, Zanjoe Marudo said “We all were taking notes and reviewing the acts of the other series to compare and maybe based some scenes here on how they are going to portray their roles “originally” for
the context of the drama”.

Zaijan Jaranilla was asked “Will the viewers change their ‘Santino’ thoughts with his character Gio, a broken family’s son?” He said that “I am thankful for ABS-CBN for giving a chance to show my other side of acting and I’m determined that it will change the viewer’s mindset a bit because ‘I also came from a broken family so I could truly relate to the
situation Gio has.”

The creatives and the designs, from houses to clothing to food has filled with Filipino attributes. The director, Ms. Connie herself collaborated with more or less 17 designers that has community connections in different cities in the country to incorporate ideas just to have a masterpiece output for the series.

On the acting side, the directors said that all of the artists were very good that most of the scenes were all “one take” and for the reason their minds were in sync with everything. The actors were very generous as well as the staff and crew.
