The Philippine government is already expecting an influx of foreigners starting today, February 10, after opening its doors for tourists.
According to the Bureau of Immigration (BI), it expects a 30 percent increase in tourist arrivals in the country on the first day of its removal from its border control.
BI port operations chief Carlos Capulong explained that they expect the arrival of more than 7,000 tourists this Thursday, higher than last year’s record of 4,816 on the same date.
The agency clarified that only vaccinated tourists will be allowed to enter the country, in accordance with the safety and health protocol of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).
