BIR’s Top 10 Celebrity Taxpayers in 2022


These top celebrity taxpayers serve as an example to their fans and fellow celebrities, showing that paying taxes is not only a legal obligation but also a way to contribute to the country's progress and development. 

For the year 2022, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has released the list of top celebrity taxpayers through their tax campaign kick-off at Fishermall in Quezon City, Wednesday, March 8, 2023.

Here are some of them:

  1. 1 Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo

    Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo are two of the most popular actors in the Philippines. Known for their on-screen chemistry, the pair have starred in numerous hit movies and TV shows together, earning them the nickname "KathNiel" from their fans. They led the roster of TV personalities who contributed the highest taxes in 2022, according to BIR.

  2. 2 Coco Martin

    Coco Martin is not only known for his remarkable skills as an actor and director in the Philippine entertainment industry but also for his contribution as one of the top taxpayers in the country. He now stars and directs the teleserye ‘FPJ's Batang Quiapo’.

  3. 3 Willie Revillame

    Willie Revillame, as a celebrity, is known for his generosity and philanthropic efforts. As a successful businessman, he has also fulfilled his obligations by regularly paying his taxes. In fact, in 2018, he was recognized by BIR for being one of the top individual taxpayers in the country.

    "Ang sarap sa pakiramdam na ika'y nagko-contribute sa ating bayan," he said during the BIR event.

    Anne Curtis is a well-known actress, host, and singer in the Philippines who has also been recognized as a responsible taxpayer. Anne has been vocal about the importance of paying taxes and fulfilling one's civic duty, setting a good example for her millions of fans and followers.

    "I think it's important that we lead by example to the future generations," she said, "and encourage others to think about the progression of our country."

    It is important to note that this list only includes celebrity taxpayers who have been awarded during BIR's recent tax season kick-off. Without revealing their ranking and how much they actually paid for taxes, BIR also recognized other top tax-paying personalities like TV host and news anchor Mel Tiangco, actresses Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo and Liza Soberano; singers Bugoy Drilon, Jed Madela, and Erik Santos; and actor Niño Muhlach.
