Ilocos Norte’s Romaine Organics farm has been recognized for its product excellence based on a consumer survey and market research. Respectively, Hydroponics technology was used in cultivating farm’s agri-produces.
Moreover, the Romaine Organics farm in Batac City, Ilocos Norte promotes sustainable agriculture using combined technologies. Apart from that, the farm educates best practices to interested practitioners and farmers. The farm is an accredited educational site in Ilocos Region.
As cited in the report of Philippine News Agency, John Lei Ganiron, farm supervisor of the farm, was grateful to the efforts made by public and private stakeholders who have helped the farm achieve such award.
“It has always been a tough ride for his family in Ben-agan village, Batac City to be on top of a systematic integrated organic farming business,” Ganiron said.
Accordingly, the report said that Ganiron family also developed a three-hectare organic farm in San Mateo village, which is planted with various high-value crops, such as sweet and American peppers, salad and cherry tomatoes, eggplant, and squash. Also, they raise tilapia and catfish.
Interestingly, Romaine Organics will be featured in the upcoming Q Asia’s National Product Quality Excellence Awards, which be held at the Diamond Hotel on May 31.
“National Product Quality Excellence Awards recognizes companies, products, and services that have met the standards of quality, deserving of praise and commendation from consumers and the public in general.In addition, this is a joint project of Q Asia Magazine, Q Asia Publication Consultancy Services, and National Council for Product and Service Quality”.
