The aetas from Capas, Tarlac imparted 10K kilos of kamote for Christmas as they have conducted a first gift-giving mission.
Moreover, aetas travelled to Barangay 649, Baseco, Manila to share their harvested sweet potatoes to the 5,000 residents of the community.
Each resident received a two-kilo of kamote.
“We were discussing what we could give to our fellow poor. We agreed to harvest sweet potatoes because that’s what we can afford to give,” Nelson Pangilinan, chieftain of the tribe, said on an interview with ABS-CBN news.
Respectively, the Philippine Air Force, Philippine National Police, and Cooperative Development Authorities assisted the aetas in sharing the 10K kilos of kamote for Christmas.
Philippine Air Force Director for Civil-Military Operations Benjie Aldimor stated that the said mission of the aetas prove that they are not beggars.
Many of the netizens appreciated the efforts of the gift-giving mission of the aetas.
Despite the struggles they are facing brought about by discrimination, aetas were not hindered to share what they have.
