“Every year, SPIA Asia recognizes the special contributions and achievements of our host country—we’ve done it before in Bangkok, Thailand, and it’s no different this year in the Philippines.
Back in SPIA Asia 2015, the Philippine Sports Commission announced their plans of staging the SEA Games, armed by the goal of delivering an elevated sporting event. This promise of staging more games and presenting a grander scale was reiterated in SPIA Asia 2018 by PHISGOC. Finally, we all saw this promise fulfilled this year during the breathtaking opening ceremony of the 30 th SEA Games,” he added.

The country was given its fourth chance to host a SEA games. It carried-out the same events in 1981, 1991 and 2005.

“The Asian award committee is the region’s leading sports business conference and awards platform, recognizing and celebrating the achievements of the Asian sports industry for the past years,” Philippine News Agency (PNA) reported.

“SPIA Asia Awards is an award-giving body in Asia that focuses on recognizing and celebrating the achievements of the Asian sports industry for the past years,” Manila Bulletin report mentioned.

Moreover, Gottschalk, SPIA chief executive officer, handed the award to Phisgoc chairman Alan Peter Cayetano and Phisgoc chief operating officer Ramon Suzara during the conference organized by SPIA Asia in Grand Hyatt Hotel.
