Cynthia Villar urged LGU official in establishing farm schools

Cynthia Villar urged officials in local government unit to put up farm schools to help farmers.

Moreover, as cited in Manila Bulletin, leaders should encourage farmers to turn their farms as agri-tourism and farm schools. The said school might obtain agriculture and tourism courses.

During her recent visit to Carranglan, Nueva Ecija for the 10th Gintong Butil Festival, Villar stated that “these farm schools will help farmers to learn for free modern ways of farming that will enable them to increase productivity and incomes and reducing their production cost”.

Importantly, the report highlighted that “Cynthia Villar authored Republic Act 10816 or the Farm Tourism law, which mandates the government to promote and develop the said sector”.

Villar emphasizes that establishing farm school can bringing back the glory days of agriculture in the country.  Given that,  income of people involved in agriculture is expected to increase.

She also said that “establishing farm school will contribute to creating a pool of farmers who are more competitive and educated on the modern technologies of farming”.
